LUIS FERNANDO CAMACHO art - arte - cubism - cubismo - neo - Las Vegas
Born on November 14th 1981 in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico, Luis Fernando Camacho's initiation into the world of imagery began at an early age. Though he only considered it a simple pass time he dedicated a large portion of his days to drawing. At 18 while doing research for a school project he came upon the works of great artists belonging to the Futurist movement, being captivated by one artist in particular; Umberto Boccioni (October 19, 1882 - August 16, 1916) an Italian painter and sculptor whose works centered on the portrayal of dynamism, speed, and technology
The discovery of this new style leads him down the path of further research, looking into other futurists and cubists. Absorbed in this new treasure trove of revered works and combined with his strong sense of personal advancement, it wasn't before long that he gathered the necessary tools to start his first painting, taking his first steps into the realm of fine arts.
Only a few months after pursing a formal education at the University of Guadalajara, Center of Art, Architecture and Design, he participated in 'Liberar-te' a contest held in the regionally known El Refugio Cultural Center. Artists at all levels participated, being judged by a group of art critics. It was the second time he would show off his work, having previously held a small exposition in Guadalajara's art district, but now his work found itself under the scrutiny and judgment of the critics. Having submitted his work titled 'El Actor', he stole first place.
This proud accomplishment encouraged him to continue participating in more contests, two of which he again would take away first and third place. Simultaneously he had the opportunity to be noted by art collectors and dealer through his participation in different events resulting in an invitation to the inaugural exposition for the 'Casa de Ensueños' art gallery in Guadalajara. As well known dealers in the artistic communities of San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, they acquired and promoted the works of Luis Fernando, showcasing his art in major events in the U.S. west coast and in this form helping him breakthrough as an International Artist.
In the years that ensued, Luis Fernando would participate in a number of expositions, some in his native city of Guadalajara while others in different parts of the U.S. West Coast, his work being picked up by various established collectors in the medium. Currently he finds himself abroad in the United States, promoting his works, developing new projects and involving himself in different cultures
